Baku hosts International Scientific Conference on the study of Alisher Navoi’s creative heritage

Azerbaijan hosted International Scientific Conference dedicated to the study of Alisher Navoi’s creative heritage, in Baku.

 The conference, which was attended by the Rector of Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi, Shukhrat Sirojiddinov, First Deputy Chairman of Uzbekistan Writers’ Union, Nodir Jonuzoq, literary scholars Boqijon Tukhliyev, Nurboy Jabborov and Olimjon Davlatov, has started with the ceremony of laying a wreath at Alisher Navoi monument in Baku.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan Sherzod Fayziyev, Vice President of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Director of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi, Isa Habibbayli and Nodir Jonuzoq spoke about the importance of Navoi’s creative legacy.

 Scientific Center for the Study of Alisher Navoi’s Heritage has been opened at the conference. Uzbekistan Writers’ Union has donated more than 100 Uzbek literature, including Navoi’s works.

At the conference, Shukhrat Sirojiddinov was awarded the Certificate of Honorary Doctor of the Institute of Literature named after Nizami Ganjavi.

 Speeches by Uzbek and Azerbaijani scholars were heard at the conference.

The guests became acquainted with the activities of the library of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. 

 Azerbaijani scholars and writers have been invited to the international scientific conference “Uzbekistan – Azerbaijan: Literary Relations” to be held on April 12-14 at Tashkent State University of Uzbek Language and Literature named after Alisher Navoi.
