Little white robot challenges traditional learning in Europe

He will become a partner of the teacher.

They called him STIMEY (Science Technology Innovation Mathematics Engineering for the Young). As planned by specialists from the University of Macedonia in Thessaloniki, a small robot will help students develop an interest in science, technology, innovation, mathematics and engineering. The project is funded by the European Union.

The robot is only part of the project, which also includes a radio, an online educational platform, and e-learning games. It involves children from 10 to 18 years old from five countries - Belarus, Germany, Greece, Spain and Finland.

“STIMEY becomes a partner of the teacher, communicates with children, helps to organize the educational process in a new way. If before the schoolchildren themselves struggled to solve the problem, now the robot joins them. The formation of educational motivation is happening, the desire to work is growing, ”said Dimitris Angeludis from the University of Macedonia.
By the end of October, about 300 STIMEYs will go to help students.
