When in September 2016, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that in five years 500 multi-storey buildings would be built in Sergeli district, many were surprised. In December 2018, the Head of the state got acquainted with the progress of implementing this plan.
Today there is a large modern microdistrict. Over the past 3 years, 460 multi-storey buildings for 19,522 apartments have been commissioned in the district. 26 makhalla guzars of an exemplary type were erected. More than 100 thousand people moved here, as a result of which the total population of the district exceeded 276 thousand people.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in order to improve the wellbeing of residents of the new microdistricts and the efficient organization of infrastructure, proposed the formation of Yangi Hayot (New Life) microdistrict with direct subordination to the khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent.
It should be noted that measures are being taken to supply agricultural products to the population of Tashkent at low prices and without intermediaries. At the first stage, 256 special shops were established in dehkan markets. Within the framework of the second stage, 2316 mobile fairs and 634 stationary stores were organized in 514 makhallas of the capital.
Kashkadarya region was assigned to Sergeli district. A special container shop was developed so that farmers could bring and sell their products.
The Head of the state got acquainted with such a shop on the territory of Tashabbus makhalla.
“If to help farmers and create conditions for them to freely bring and sell their products, food prices in Tashkent can be reduced by 15-20 percent. Access to affordable and high-quality products will create convenience for people, and the presence of regular customers will facilitate the work of farmers. Now it is necessary to fix specific areas to other districts and create such small-sized shops with their own refrigerator in makhallas”, said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The President also got acquainted with activities of LLC Madena Collection on Sergeli-5A microdistrict. This sewing enterprise annually produces 150 thousand units of protective clothing for health workers.
100 women residents of the district work here. The Head of the state talked with workers, inquired about living and working conditions.
