Useful and harmful sleeping postures

Sleep on the side is harmful to the spine, and on the stomach it increases intra-abdominal pressure.

The best option is to sleep on your back. And the most dangerous posture for sleeping is in a sitting position, said the chief freelance cardiologist of the Ministry of Health of Crimea Valery Sadovoy on the radio "Sputnik in Crimea".

"Sitting pose has a bad effect on the heart, it increases intra-abdominal pressure, because of this there are swelling. This is fraught with expansion of veins and thrombosis," Sadovoy stressed.
In addition, the cardiologist spoke about the benefits of sleep during the day. From this rest, the risk of heart disease is reduced and a feeling of vigor appears.
