What Japan will do for Uzbekistan's energy?

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with the delegation of Japan headed by the Director General of the Bureau of Trade and Economic Cooperation METI Shin Hosaka.

The meeting was organized in preparation for the upcoming December visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Japan.

During the meeting, the Uzbek side noted long-term cooperation with Japanese companies as «Mitsubishi Corporation», «Yokogawa Corporation» and «Marubeni Corporation». It stressed that the ongoing current policy of the country is open to attract direct investment into the energy sector of the country through the introduction of advanced technologies.

«Yokogawa» discussed the possibility of implementing the second phase of the Program for the modernization of the gas transportation system of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the introduction of the dispatch center, monitoring and management of gas infrastructure (SCADA) with the company «Marubeni Corporation» and implementation of process control systems with the company.

The Uzbek side proposed cooperation projects financing the construction of 4 CCGT plant at JSC "Navoi TPP" CCGT on Syrdarya TPP on PPP principles, the development potential of the electricity sector, the objectives of which are the supply of spare parts, maintenance, technical advice for regular inspections, preparation shef- engineering and installation of the remote monitoring of PSU.

With the participation of Japanese companies in the financing of JICA to date successfully implemented projects in the energy sector for the construction of combined-cycle plant at Navoi TPP and TPP Turakurgan.
At present JSC "Uzbekneftegaz" together with «Mitsubishi Corporation» studied the prospects of the proposed projects, is expected to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.

Already signed a memorandum of understanding with the company «Yokogawa Corporation» in the field of automation process control systems of "Uzbekneftegaz". The sides are preparing for the signing of a framework agreement.
Jointly consider the possibility of participation of «Marubeni Corporation» in the second phase of the Program for the modernization of the gas transportation system of the Republic of Uzbekistan with the introduction of the dispatch center, monitoring and management of gas infrastructure (SCADA), the press service of the Ministry of Energy in Uzbekistan ..
